Miniature Witch/Fairy

This tiny figure is around 5" sitting down. She has artist made eyes and red Mohair for hair. I dressed her in black silk gauze with pantaloons of dyed silver/black silk trimmed with silk ribbons. Her waist has been tied with a silver ribbon and her hat has antique jet black beading. She sits on a stool painted silver with a little sparkle added. Her wings are mixed media.

Alice and the Caterpillar

I finally finished Alice who is a 7" figure sculpted in puppen fimo and dressed in my favorite fabrics..."silk". She is holding a 3" Queen of Hearts. The Blue Caterpillar is sculpted from puppen fimo and the mushrooms are sculpted from paper clay....all are painted with acrylics and sealed.
This piece was pure joy to work on....and they have been sold and will live in a wonderful home.

Alice in Wonderland

One of my favorite books is "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" illustrated by Anne Bachelier.
Her art work inspires me and so I decided to do Alice with the colors she used in her illustrations.
There is a wonderful lady from Melbourne who hand dyes beautiful fabrics, ribbons and lace and
has a shop Raes Rags on Etsy. I had her dye some mommie pure silk for my Alice. These are the
colors that Anne Bashelier loves to use in her illustrations.

Forest Fairy

This Forest Fairy is a 9" full body sculpt of Puppen Fimo polymer clay. She has hand made glass eyes and beautiful red mohair for her hair. I dressed her in hand dyed gauze so you could see her beautiful body. Her wings are mixed media sculpted into her back. She has a beautiful glass beaded headdress and a necklace and bracelet of gold.

She stands by the brass rod and tube method on her wood base which has been decorated with hand sculpted mushrooms and ferns, stones, beads and moss.

This sculpture is OOAK designed and hand made by the artist.
She has been sold and flown to her new home.

Pumpkin Head Lady

Check out the Halloween Queen's Castle Bootique on April lst for new artwork by some awesome Halloween artists. I will feature my Pumpkin Head Lady. She is sculpted from paper clay and stands on a base sculpted from paper clay and apoxie clay. This piece is 11" tall and sits on a base with a diameter of 4.5". She is One of Kind never to be created again....I promise...because I cannot stand to create the same thing all over again. If I do it will definitely have a new twist.
This was a fun piece and I really enjoyed creating the base.

Southern Belle Fairy

I live in Natchez, Ms and during the Spring we have a Spring Pilgrimage featuring the Antebellum homes with the hostess ladies all dressed in antebellum dresses and the visiting gentlemen drinking Mint Juleps while their wives tour the homes.
When I finished this fairy, my husband walked by and looked at her and said,"Is that your Southern Belle Fairy?" So, that is how she came by her name. She is a 9" figure sculpted from puppen fimo with arms and legs that can be posed. I dressed her in a beautiful hand dyed gauze and antique lace with antique miniature flowers and iridescent beading around her pantaloons and wrists. Her wings are mixed media.

She sits on her own chair that has been made from a paper mache box and apoxie clay; painted and crackled for an antique look. This is a One of a Kind piece never to be created again. She is now in an Art Gallery and is no longer for sale over the internet.

Violet, a Spring time doll.

"Violet" is a 9" figure sculpted from puppen fimo over a wire armaure with arms and legs that can be posed. She has hand painted eyes, mohair for hair and is dressed in hand dyed silk and gauze decorated with faux blue berries. On her tiny feet are felt shoes with a violet flower adorning them. She is One of a Kind (OOAK) designed and handmade by the artist without the use of molds. She has been sent to an Art Gallery and is not for sale over the internet.

White Rabbit

This 9" figure is sculptured from an air dry clay with arms that can be posed. I painted her with acrylics and sealed for longevity. She is dressed in hemp silk textured crepe and antique lace with antique buttons and silk ribbons. She stands on a stand sculpted from apoxie clay decorated with real pebbles and lichens. For safe shipping, she can be removed from her base...OOAK sculpture. She has moved to her new home.

Witch in a Shoe Pull Toy

This tiny Witch sits in a reproduction high top antique shoe. Her head and hands are

sculpted from puppen fimo with hand made eyes and gray mohair for hair. She is dressed
in a cotton fabric with a silk collar and antique black jet beaded belt. Her felt hat is trimmed in
silk, feathers, antique jet beads and antique black lace.

Her pull toy is decorated with the same fabric as her costume. The pull toy measures 4"x 2" and is 10" tall from the tip of her hat to the wheels.

Holiday March completed

"Holiday March" is finally completed and consists of three figures marching with their musical instruments. The leader is a 7" Elf followed by a 6" Pumpkin Head and a 5" Snowman. They are all sculpted out of Creative paper clay, an air dry clay. Using a technique taught by Jean Bernard, I covered them with kleenex that had been colored with acrylic paint and sealed them with 3 coats of matte varnish. They march on a base that has been covered with antique sheet music and crackled for that warm patina. All figures can be removed for shipping. This is a OOAK piece never to be created again. This bunch left me and moved to their new home.

My WIP on this piece has been delayed because I opted to go ahead and have cataract surgery on the right eye. But I did finish the first figure....there will be two more figures marching behind this tiny elf. I think one will be a pumpkin head and one a snowman...it is called "Holiday March". The little elf is sculpted from paper clay and overlayed with one layer of a painted kleenex...a techinque I learned from Jean Bernard. I already had some of the tissue that I had painted and pulled away one layer and put it onto the figure with a wet brush and when it dried I put at least three layers of matt varnish over it. His wings are also finished with the tissue. I also decopauged antique sheet music onto the base.

I want to do a Christmas angel or fairy...here is the start:
Some beautiful wings made by another artist.
Wonderful deep red silk velvet piece I have been hoarding
A wide strip of dyed silk velvet which I have also been holding for something special
And some beautiful silk green ribbon.

And here is a new Halloween piece. That little guy in the front of the base is playing a flute and there will be two smaller pumpkin heads following him playing some type of instruments. All in paper clay and I think I will decoupage the base with some antique sheet music I have been saving.

New Mushroom Forest Holiday People #8

It has been awhile since I added to the series: Mushroom Forest Holiday People or MFHP.....
Here is #8...a quick picture since I did not have time to set up with the tripod. "Filbert" is a
5" figure sculpted from natural puppen fimo and painted and sealed with acrylics, and he is a Pumpkin Head. He has
a cloth collar around his neck just to give him that extra zing. There is a mate for him in
the works...He stands on a wooden cube covered with paper clay and painted and can
be removed for shipping. If not sold on here, he will be moved to the Queen's Bootique on
the 15th. Filbert sells for $95 including shipping and insurance.

Steampunk Frankenstein's Bride

This is a 9" figure sculpted from puppen fimo with arms and legs that can be posed. She has beautiful mohair for hair and is dressed in white gauze. Watch parts have been used for that steampunk look. She sits with the brass rod and tube method on a wooden base that has been antiqued and crackled, The entire piece is 10" high.

She has sold and is going to a wonderful home with other members of her family from the Studio of Bonnie Jones.

Halloween Pumpkin Head Artist

The Artist is a 9" figure completely sculpted from an air dry clay over a strong wire armature, painted with acrylics and sealed with a matte varnish. Her eyes are handmade by me and she holds a real paint brush. She sits on the base with the brass rod and tube method so she can be removed for shipping. The child's bust is sculpted from paper clay and sits on a wooden candle stick which can be removed from the base.

The base is wood covered with paper clay and apoxie clay,painted with acrylics and measures 4.5" X 2.5". The entire piece is 10" high.

Pumpkin Head Artist

A new piece is evolving and I think I am excited about her...we will see...I just never know what
these creatures are going to do.. She is an artist and will be putting the final touches on the bust
she has just created. A paint brush will be held in one hand. Still not sure how to costume her...with paper clay or with fabric...or maybe with both........later.

Raven Queen

The Raven Queen is a 9" full body sculpt figure of puppen fimo. The entire piece measures 12" in height. I dressed her in black silk gauze and an antique black handkerchief. Her top is mulberry paper painted blue and she has a wired silk ribbon around her waist. She has black mohair for hair with a head dress made of real black feathers decorated with silk flower petals and black German Glass Glitter and matching wings. Her mask is painted on her face. She holds a staff with an amber stone for light with a raven on top. The Queen stands on a handmade mosaic base with the rod and tube method so she can be removed for safe shipping. $195 plus $13 shipping and insurance. Lay-a-way is available.

Working on a new piece.........In my head I know how I want her to look..but, as always, only she

Snow Angels

The Snow Angels and the Moon are all sculpted from paper clay over a strong armature. I crackled the moon and the angels have German glass glitter all over them with glass baubles for their halos and wings. The base has lots of mica and glass baubles on it. Finishing Mister Pumpkin Head

The final stage of finishing Mister Pumpkin Head. Well, he did not want to be dressed the way I had him pictured. I spend a day hand dying silk velvet a beautiful pumpkin color and he said NO WAY, it clashes with my head........soooooooo he is going to have a black velvet jump suit belted with a pumpkin color sash and a black silk ruffle around his neck AND he will have pumpkin color shoes..........

I have drapped fabric on him just to see if this will work and he approves........he has really given me a hard time when it comes to color.

After taking pictures, I see I need to work on his eyes some more....but I think we just about have this piece conquered..............actually I really love this old guy.

Another WIP

Starting on another WIP...yep, a pumpkin head...they seem to invade my brain and will not go away. But, this one is different. I have been making figures around 5",6" and 7" for my Halloween pieces and I decided to make a 12" figure which I have not done in quite awhile. I can see this one dressed in dyed velvet and silk and holding a wonderfully decorative walking cane....we shall see...as you know, they have a mind of their own and I never really know how they are going to turn out. I am sculpting this one out of Creative paper clay over a very strong wire armature made stronger with an application of Apoxie Clay. You can see his head in my convection oven drying. I always use aluminum foil for the head armature instead of styrofoam so I can put it in the oven to dry.

He, is beginning to come together now...

Witch Hazel

My new piece "Witch Hazel Make-do" is now complete and will arrive on Spooky Time Jingles on the 13th of May. She is sculpted from paper clay with a leather hat and corset. She has glass eyes and beautiful mohair for her hair. The entire piece measures 14". She sells for $135 including insurance and shipping. She has been sold.

I am very late in posting the completed Cheshire Cat. He ran over to Spooky Time Jingles and a wonderful collector snapped him up and gave him a fabulous home....but, here is a picture of

I am trying to finish this Kat and his "friends" for STJ by the 10th....not sure I am going to make it. I had arthroscopic surgery on my left knee on the 19th and am going to Physical therapy three times a week. Have not had the desire to do much sculpting because of the pain; but,things are looking up. Here is this kat...is he the Cheshire Kat holding Alice and the Rabbit??????

Fairy Bell and Baby

I have finally finished the new Fairy and her baby. The Fairy is 9" and sculpted from rose puppen fimo over a strong armature. She is dressed in lightly dyed green silk gauze. She has a head dress of beautiful iridescent beads and has a real bell hanging from her neck on a gold chain. The baby is also sculpted from puppen fimo and dressed in dyed silk gauze with tiny beads on her head. The mushroom is also sculpted from puppen fimo. The faerie's beautiful wings of fantasy film on gold wire was created by a seller on E-bay by the name of "immortal1880".

Since I started back making Halloween pieces, I have let my faeries and mermaids sit on the back burner. Here is a fairy that I have never finished and plan to do so very soon. She is looking down at a baby on a mushroom...... The entire piece is sculpted from puppen fimo.

Skinny Witch

Here she is all finished and I am very pleased the way she turned out. I think I will call these pieces "the skinnies". She is 9.5" tall and the base is 3" long and 1.5" wide. I painted her with acrylics and then sealed her with a matte varnish.

WIP of a Skinny Witch

I have been playing in the studio and came up with a "skinny" figure sculpted from Prosculpt. I still had some Prosculpt which I stopped using several years ago when I started using Puppen Fimo which is more flexible and harder when fired. And at the time I was getting moonies (little white moons in the clay when fired). For some reason, I did not get the first moonie when sculpting this figure and had forgotten how easy this clay is to blend and hold its shape while sculpting. I am afraid I did not take many pictures while creating this piece...I have got to learn to pick up the camera while working on WIP.

The base is apoxie clay over aluminum foil with some texture pressed into the clay. The wire armature was wrapped with foil and then floral tape so the clay will stick.

And here she is ready to be painted.

Pumpkin Candy Container

This Candy Container is a wooden box painted with multiple layers of paint with halloween bats and spiders stamped in black all around it. On top is a Pumpkin Head sculpted from paper clay, painted with acrylics and sealed with matte varnish. She has a little glass glitter on top for sparkle.
I have included with the container a matching ornament also sculpted from paper clay.

The Container is 8" high with a diameter of 4". The ornament is 5" from the top of his head to the bottom of the hanging beads.

Welcome to my new blog. This blog will showcase works in progress and figures that are for sale.
Here are some pictures of a work in progress while creating a Pumpkin Candy container and a Pumpkin Head Rabbit, #2 in the series "Pumpkin Heads in Wonderland".

The coat tail was sculpted from apoxie clay and needed support with foil while drying. I then covered it with paper clay to blend in with the rest of the sculpt. The hands and head have been added to the body.
